Implementing the project to support the Institute of Non-Traditional Security (INS) in enhancing cybersecurity training capacity
On the afternoon of August 17, 2026, Mr. Yang Seok Woong, Country Director of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) in Vietnam, together with a KOICA delegation, visited and worked with the Hanoi School of Business and Management (HSB), Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
Participants in the meeting included Lieutenant General, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Yem, Director of the Institute for Non-Traditional Security (under HSB, Vietnam National University, Hanoi); Prof. Dr. Hoang Dinh Phi, Rector of HSB; and representatives of relevant units.
Towards Project Implementation in the 2026–2030 Period
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the progress and solutions for the early implementation of the project “Supporting the Vietnam Institute for Non-Traditional Security in Strengthening Cybersecurity Training Capacity”, supported by KOICA. After more than three years of preparation, the required infrastructure and human resources are now in place for the project to be implemented during the 2026–2030 period.
The two sides agreed to maintain close coordination on timelines and key areas of work, with the aim of launching the project in the fourth quarter of 2026. They also expressed confidence that the cooperation program would be successfully implemented and contribute to strengthening Vietnam’s cybersecurity capacity in the years ahead.
Advancing Research, Education and the Development of Non-Traditional Security Management
Alongside HSB’s achievements in developing the academic school of thought on “Non-Traditional Security Management” (MNS) and advancing cybersecurity management technologies, this project is expected to further strengthen the leading role of HSB and the Institute for Non-Traditional Security (INS) in scientific research on non-traditional security management, talent development, and strategic consultancy for safeguarding non-traditional security across different sectors in Vietnam.
This cooperation with KOICA further reflects HSB’s commitment to strengthening partnerships with international institutions in education, research and the development of high-quality human resources in the field of non-traditional security, making a practical contribution to Vietnam’s sustainable development.
