The HSB – MONTPELLIER ESPORTS CONFERENCE 2026 successfully concluded, leaving numerous international academic hallmarks.

On May 21–22, 2026, the Hanoi School of Business and Management (HSB), Vietnam National University, Hanoi, in collaboration with University of Montpellier (France) successfully organized the international conference “HSB – Montpellier Esports Conference 2026”, bringing together experts, researchers, scholars, and business representatives from 09 countries, including: Vietnam, France, China, Germany, India, Brazil, New Zealand, Morocco, and the United Kingdom.
Organized in a hybrid format, combining in-person and online participation, the conference served as an important international academic forum for exchanging new trends related to eSports, creative technology, and the digital economy, while fostering connections among researchers, businesses, and the international academic community.
In the context where the Vietnamese Government identifies gaming as one of six key cultural industries, the eSports and creative technology sectors are opening up numerous strong development opportunities in Vietnam. Notably, Vietnam's first-time hosting of a national team-level eSports tournament, bringing together 11 Southeast Asian countries, marked a significant step forward for Vietnamese eSports in its journey of regional integration and development.
Key Outcomes After Two Days of Conference
After two days of work, the conference achieved several notable outcomes:

- 01 Keynote Presentation session
- 03 Industry Talks with the participation of practical experts in the eSports field, including 02 Esports Managers and 01 Esports Coach
The discussions focused on various timely and interdisciplinary topics such as: eSports management, legal aspects of the eSports industry, career development in eSports, mental health of athletes, sustainable development, and international trends in the modern eSports ecosystem.
Promoting International Cooperation and Interdisciplinary Research
Speaking at the program, Prof. Dr. Hoang Dinh Phi – Rector of the Hanoi School of Business and Management highly appreciated the academic quality of the conference as well as the spirit of international cooperation among participating units. Concurrently, the Rector affirmed the school's direction to continue promoting interdisciplinary research on eSports, creative technology, and new areas of the digital economy in the coming period.
With a development orientation based on three academic pillars: Management – Security – Technology, HSB continues to promote research and academic activities related to artificial intelligence (AI), technology, innovation, and the digital economy, contributing to the training of high-quality human resources to meet the demands of the digital transformation era.
The conference also opened opportunities for students, lecturers, researchers, and the eSports enthusiast community to access international trends, expand academic networks, and explore the development potential of this rapidly growing global industry.
